The News: March 9, 2007
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) for defence, expressing its deep concern on the US anti-Pakistan law in the process of finalization, termed it an insult to Pakistan and urged upon the government to cease partially or wholly Pakistan’s cooperation in the war against terrorism.
NASC for defence, in a special meeting presided over by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain held here, mulled over the two-point agenda, which included PIA performance and the Pakistan related law making in the US Congress. The meeting also approved a resolution unanimously, in which, the proposed Pakistan related law making in the US Congress was termed an act of belittling Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism. The resolution said that in case such law making, a joint session of the parliament should be convened.
When quizzed, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain told that the elections would have to be put off even unwillingly, if such a situation in the region develops.
