U.S. senior officials to visit Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, March 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher will pay a visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, Pakistan's official news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported on Monday.
The visit came after Pakistan's National Assembly elected Yousuf Raza Gillani as the new prime minister on Monday.
Negroponte and Boucher are expected to meet with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and leaders of some political parties, the APP said.
They will discuss the issues related to Pakistan-U.S. relations, recent political development in Pakistan, war on terror and regional security situation, the APP added.
