Media should be free to cover judicial process: USA

WASHINGTON: USA State Department said Tuesday that media in Pakistan should have liberty to cover the judicial proceedings and people should have the awareness of government’s actions.
In response to a question, US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said that his country is observing the whole situation minutely; adding people and government of Pakistan will have to resolve this matter in accordance with their laws.
USA spokesman said judicial process is underway in Pakistan and media should be free to cover it.
Pakistani people should know what their government is doing and the same needs to be ensured, he added.
