Chief secretary serves notice on US consulate
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Rasool has served notice on the US consulate in Lahore for directly choosing three senior officers including the Punjab home secretary for a course in the US, Geo news channel reported on Friday.
The report said the Punjab chief secretary had asked the US consulate to avoid nominating civilian or police officers for courses in the US on its own. The US consulate in Lahore has nominated three senior officers of the Punjab including Hasan Waseem Afzal, the Punjab home secretary, Saadatullah Khan, the inspector general of police in Punjab and Tariq Saleem Dogar, the deputy inspector general of police in Lahore, for a course in the US, the channel quoted sources as saying. The chief secretary also directed the nominated officers not to contact the US consulate on their own, the report added. daily times monitor
