Terrorism in Peshawar

Editorial: Peshawar terrorism weakens Pakistan’s case

A car bomb explosion outside an Imambargah near Peshawar’s historic Qissa Khwani Bazaar killed at least 22 people and injured more than 90 on Friday. The target was the Imambargah Alamdar Karbala. This labels the attack as a sectarian one. It will unleash the usual nonsensical rhetoric of “no-Muslim-can-do-this” before everyone falls back into the groove of forgetfulness and gets busy with such more pressing crises as the restoration of the November 2007 judiciary and the ouster of the incumbent chief justice of Pakistan.
